Regents Climate Work

Regent has several things we do to create a sustainable company that protects the environment. This page lists some of the things Regent does.

To begin with, the company is environmentally certified according to ISO-14001. This certification means that an external auditor reviews all of Regent’s processes at least once a year and ensures that we are actively working on environmental issues and that we are constantly improving.

Part of this work means that Regent annually reviews the most important environmental aspects we as a company need to work on. The biggest environmental aspect we have identified is our travels.

Travels

Regent climate compensates all conference trips we carry out so that they become carbon dioxide neutral. In addition, we make sure to hold our intermediate conferences domestically to destinations we can easily travel to by train.

Regent annually sends out a survey to all employees where everyone has to answer how much we travel within the service per year. All such business trips are climate compensated. To encourage employees to reduce their travel, Regent invests in an additional climate bonus for each person who chooses to get to their work on foot or by bicycle.

Regent has a strict staff car policy where all cars must meet the company’s environmental requirements for the cars that are allowed to be taken in as staff cars.

Purchases

Those who work with purchases at Regent, mainly the administrative function, have received directives to always choose eco-labelled goods even if they are more expensive than other alternatives. This applies to all things in the office such as physical things such as cleaning products and paper but also includes deliveries to the office that we choose bicycle delivery whenever possible rather than other vehicles.

Energy Consumptions

Regent only purchases electricity from renewable energy sources such as wind power.

Waste recycling

Regent has an active waste recycling at the office.

All hazardous waste such as printer toners and other technical equipment is handled according to the way such material should be handled. That it is carried out is documented and can be followed up by anyone who wants to see this.

Environmental policy and goals

Regent has an environmental policy and environmental goals according to Environmental Policy & Environmental Requirements.

An important goal to highlight there is the question that all employees within Regent receive every month through the surveys that are sent out in the groups. Namely if the group believes that Regent is working with environmental issues. The result on this question is measured on a scale of 1 to 4. If everyone answers 3, the average result is 75%. Regent aims to always be above 90% on this question. If the result falls below this limit, measures need to be taken to raise the result back to the high level we believe we should maintain

Suppliers

All sub-consultants are covered by Regent’s environmental work. We therefore set as a requirement in all subconsultancy agreements that our suppliers must comply with Regent’s environmental policy and the environmental requirements we set for ourselves.

Customer gifts

Instead of giving Regent’s customers sweets around Easter and other gifts for Christmas, this money is instead invested in Regent’s climate fund Trine.

Regent’s Climate Fund Trine

Trine is an initiative where both private individuals and companies can enter with capital to build solar parks mainly in Africa. Examples of projects are large warehouses where the trucks can switch to electric operation instead of running on Diesel, which thus reduces the amount of carbon dioxide emitted.

These are high-risk projects where the companies themselves cannot raise the required capital, but through Regent’s and other actors’ capital, the projects are made possible. When the projects are successful, the money is returned to the fund Regent has set aside, from which the money is then reinvested in new solar cell projects.

In order to increase the investment and also get traction from the employees, an extra investment is once made in the fund. For every person who wants to waive SEK 500 from their salary or billing, Regent will invest another SEK 1,000. In other words, it costs the employee SEK 250 net, while the investment to the fund is SEK 1,500.

All these investments together make it a question of millions that Regent invests in various solar parks through this climate fund.
