Environmental policy & Environmental requirements

Regent’s goal is to constantly minimize the environmental impact that may arise related to the products and services we market.

We achieve this by:

  • Motivate and inform our employees about environmental work within Regent and by persuading them to take great personal responsibility for their work tasks. We also want to motivate them to sincerely engage in environmental issues.
  • Understand and comply with laws and other environmental requirements that apply to our products and services.
  • Apply a purchasing plan that strives to reduce our climate impact through better vehicles and fuel.
  • Recycle and sort waste when possible, as well as ensure that environmentally hazardous waste is handled in a safe manner.
  • Use eco-labeled products in the business whenever possible.
  • Work to constantly get better at environmental work!
  • Always use the most environmentally friendly means of transport possible. For short distances, we advocate walking or cycling rather than taking a car or other means of transport. For longer distances, we recommend trains over flights or cars.
  • Refrain from traveling completely if possible. Many meetings can be held digitally and can thus avoid a trip altogether.

To ensure that the employees are updated on what Regent is doing in these matters, all employees receive a survey question every month in which environmental issues are raised.

Regent’s environmental goals are as follows:

  • Continuous reduction of climate emissions from transport. One part of this is that Regent must have 100% cars that are either electric hybrids, fully electric or otherwise have an environmental classification.
  • Regent must only use 100% renewable energy sources.
  • Regent must achieve at least 90% results on employee surveys regarding environmental issues (as this indicates that Regent works actively with environmental issues).
  • Regent must have net zero emissions of greenhouse gases.

Environmental aspect register

Regent has identified the environmental aspects that may result, either positively or negatively, from our activities, products and services. These are compiled under Onedrive (Regent) Company documents ISOEnvironmental aspect register.xlsx.

The biggest environmental aspect Regent has identified is travel. For that reason, measurements are carried out on an annual basis regarding the consultants’ trips within Regent, of which these are then climate compensated.

Environmental requirements

Regent has several environmental requirements according to the list below:

  • Only use of electricity from renewable energy sources. This requirement is not communicated to any supplier, but instead Regent chooses a supplier based on the fact that they can offer this energy solution.
  • Regent requires suppliers of mainly business trips to be carried out as climate-friendly as possible. For example, through biofuel for aviation or that the travel provider offers climate compensation. This is communicated by email from the purchasing manager.
  • Only purchase eco-labeled products when possible with regard to quality and performance.
  • When choosing suppliers, Regent requires that the supplier lives up to its environmental responsibility. If the supplier’s environmental responsibility is not clearly stated through their public material, this is ensured by email where the supplier may report on its environmental work. This factor is then considered in the choice of supplier, which means that Regent can opt out of suppliers who do not take their environmental responsibility. Environmental requirements for suppliers as defined in the paragraph below are also communicated to Regent’s suppliers when applicable.
  • When Regent hires sub-consultants, they are required to comply with Regent’s environmental requirements specified in sub-consultants’ agreements, as defined in the paragraph below.
  • Personnel cars are only purchased in accordance with Regent’s current regulations for emissions. This requirement is not communicated to any supplier, but instead Regent chooses a supplier based on the fact that they can offer cars in accordance with current regulations.
  • Garbage must be sorted at source. Hazardous waste must be handled according to the process for this in Lucidchart . In this case, Regent requires property managers to have a satisfactory solution to handle this.

Policy to Reduce Food Waste

Regent purchases a lot of food for events, group meetings, and many other activities. To reduce the environmental impact of these events, Regent applies the following rules:

  • Regent does not leave edible food behind at restaurants or during events, but instead asks the serving staff to package the food in appropriate portions. This food can be taken home by participants of the events, or brought back to the office to be eaten for lunch the following day.
  • Regent does not order more food than we estimate will be consumed.

Environmental requirements for suppliers

When you as a Supplier work on behalf of Regent, you are included in our environmental work. Your

The supplier must comply with applicable laws, regulations and local rules of procedure.

Regent chooses eco-labeled products whenever possible with regard to quality and performance. Only renewable energy sources for electricity supply. Transport through primarily public transport and secondarily fuel-efficient and environmentally classified vehicles. You and also your subcontractors who carry out assignments in Regent’s name need to do the same.

You as a supplier are responsible for removal and sorting at source, and that environmentally hazardous waste is handled in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Furthermore, as a Supplier, you are obliged to read into Regent’s environmental and work environment policies and do what you can to live up to them. The policies can be found under https://regent.se/om-oss/.
